We’re a nonprofit that supports hunger relief initiatives through pizza-related campaigns and events.
What does Slice Out Hunger do?
Sometimes we produce events - like our famous $1 Pizza Party - that raise thousands for for our hunger relief initiatives. Our primary ongoing project is Pie it Forward where we use donated funds to buy pizza for hunger relief organizations like shelters & soup kitchens across the country.
Who runs Slice Out Hunger?
Our organization is run by our founder Scott Wiener and Director of Operations Erin Ruszaj, but we’re also a volunteer-led organization. We wouldn’t be able to accomplish all of the #Pizza4Good that we do without the support of an army of volunteers and our amazing Board of Directors.

How do I get my pizzeria involved?
Pizzerias are invited to become official Pizza Partners of Slice Out Hunger by pledging to donate at least 30 pizzas or raise $300 for a local hunger relief organization every year. You can apply as a Pizza Partner here.
How much of the money raised by SOH’s events and campaigns get used for hunger relief?
100% of the money raised by our actions goes directly to hunger relief initiatives. Our administrative costs are entirely covered by public donations towards our general fund and corporate sponsorships.
Where does Slice Out Hunger operate?
We’re headquartered in NYC, but all of our initiatives are nationwide across the US.
Is Slice Out Hunger related to Slice, the pizza app?
We do work together all the time because our missions have some serious overlap, but Slice Out Hunger is not a subsidiary of, or related in any direct way, to Slice.
